Umar (pronounced Ooo-mar), De’Andre and Tony are three brothers who agree on liking sports, enjoying music, and being together. Sometimes they get along without a care, and sometimes their birth order, or their place in the brotherly scheme of things, shows. Umar is a Browns fan, and De’Andre and Tony root for the Steelers. Umar favors Michael Jackson music, De’Andre strums a guitar and little Tony loves to steal the stage with crazy dancing moves. When it is all said and done, though, people who know the boys the best say that being reunited in the same group facility has proved to be a very good thing.
And now a plan to be placed together in the same happy adoptive home—with a loving caring family—is expected to work out best for each of them in the long run. The new plan has three votes to start—from the boys themselves. Umar, De’Andre and Tony all count on each other and really miss each other when they are separated. They are getting all ready for the fun, give and take, and secure feeling of family life.
Umar has always liked football, basketball, and drawing. He is sometimes very talkative and sometimes on the quiet side, but he likes learning and is in seventh grade at the on-site school. He and his brothers all get special help in school, and it seems to be paying off. The encouragement that a permanent family can give regarding class work should certainly be beneficial.
Umar continues to connect with staff members at the group home where he lives, and pauses to say that someone there “kind of treats me like a mom,” and that she, “talks to me when I’m feeling bad or feeling down.” He wants a caring adoptive family and says earnestly, “I just hope it works out.” Umar likes the guitar and drums, drawing pictures, and going to indoor or outdoor amusement parks. He likes to play games. He likes being a big brother.
De’Andre is in fourth grade at the on-site school, and says he gets A’s in math. Staff workers say he is “on target” academically and is a bright guy who doesn’t ever mind doing his school work. He is an active sports boy who is a popular pick with friends or family on the ball field. He’s not too choosey about what kind of ball. He likes soccer, kickball, basketball, baseball and football. If he had a kind hearted adoptive mom, who also picked him out along with his brothers, it would be a dream come true. A dad to cheer him on would also help him smile.
De’Andre likes to play sports or “joke around” with his brothers, and a visit to a wild life preserve or zoo, to a swimming pool or park would all be fun for De’Andre. Like his brothers, he likes pets.
Tony is the youngest brother, full of energy and loaded with charm. He often finds a way to be the center of attention, like when he does fancy break-dancing moves, with or without a stage. He is in the first grade at the same on-site school, working on all the elementary basics. He’s always been a LeBron James fan, and he says he loves hot wings, spicy chicken, classic mac and cheese, and “cow.” He says, “I like to eat cow.” People guess he’s quite a burger-boy.
Umar, De’Andre, and Tony are active and lively. They have their ups and downs so they need a flexible, understanding family who will offer them a balance of good guidance and good fun, warmth and nurturing—but with constantly positive values and goals. Are you that family? You might make all the difference in their futures. Call now.
