paul
Age: 16
Paul is an interesting eighth grader who enjoys football, basketball and track. He's working on his grades in his local middle school this year so that he can get back in the game on some of the team sports he loves. He has played outside line backer in football, targeting the running back and quarter back. Paul would like to play next year again on a team. He likes to watch the Steelers, too. He would like to join the track team for the mile or 100 meter race. He enjoys basketball, and plays a pick up game with some of his friends in the group facility where he lives with about six other guys, mostly a little older than he is. When the weather warms up they'll play football in the yard after school.
If Paul had an adoptive family, he hopes that they would help him get to practices and come out and cheer him on at games or meets. He would add to an adoptive home, too, by pitching in to help out with mowing the grass or doing some yard work. He likes to eat, but helping with the dishes is not his strong point. He says he's more of a yard work type. He would like to help an adoptive family to cookouts, camping and fishing fun and chores. Paul has had some experience fishing, and has caught catfish from a boat dock.
Paul likes attending church. He enjoys playing some video or computer games, too. He likes to watch crime dramas on TV like CSI, and he thinks he might like to join the military after high school to earn some credits to go to a police academy. He imagines that working in a special unit to crack down on drug dealers would make for a really interesting career someday. He would like to help stop the spread of drugs, and he cares about people so a police or detective job appeals to him.
Paul enjoys pets, especially dogs, but he is not too fond of snakes or lizards. He likes music too, listening to R & B and rap. He'd like to try his hand at learning the drums sometime. He enjoys school where social studies, studying ancient Greece and Rome, is his favorite subject. He got a B in social studies recently, but math and science classes are a little troublesome, he says. He has a football coach who is funny in class sometimes, his favorite person there, but he also enjoys making friends with guys his own age.
If he could find the right active adoptive family, though, who would add both support and fun to his life, he could grow up happy and relaxed. Paul is ready for a future filled with a great balance of family learning, sports, and fun.
Paul likes to travel and see new places. He's already seen West Virginia, Maine, and Vermont, and would enjoy the chance to cover more ground with a fun-loving, interesting, and active family. Will you find a seat in the stands to cheer for him? Would you like to find out more about adopting Paul?
