malachi
Age: 13
Malachi is a creative boy with a great imagination. He's on the quiet side at first, but is really nice to talk to after a few minutes, with lots of interests. At the group facility where he lives now he is in specialized sixth grade classes with seven other guys. He's earning mostly A's and B's in his work, and he also works hard on his "levels," making sure he's following rules and staying on track.
He says that his teacher is nice and fair, and he likes her class in school quite a bit. He's reading a Star Wars book for fun right now, and the character Luke Skywalker is someone that he admires. He wonders if he might become an inventor someday, making an "energy sword," or going on an underground adventure to find a new source of "special crystals." Malachi says that his favorite heroes are good guys- not on the dark side- and so is he.
When Malachi isn't reading adventure or science fiction, he loves to play sports. He has had a little experience with wrestling and baseball, but the sport he likes most is soccer. He is fast on his feet. He played on a soccer team for four years, and he likes to play defense, offense, or goalie. Malachi also likes to camp, fish, or go kayaking. He has fished with worms from riverbanks, and has even had a chance to fish in the ocean for bigger catches in Florida. He likes all kinds of outdoor fun. If he had an adoptive family who liked the outdoors, pets, or sports, that would be fine. Thinking about the importance of an adoptive family, he says, "They could teach me a whole bunch of things, and I could teach them a whole bunch of things. We could get along."
Malachi has made some friends at his group facility, even when they tease him a little and call him, "Mal-ah-chee," instead of "Mal-ah-cai." He shakes his head at the thought, but gives a little smile. He shares a room with two other guys, and keeps his side of the room neat and clean before breakfast. If he had an adoptive family he would be willing to help doing kitchen chores or cooking. He likes macaroni and cheese the best or big breakfasts with eggs, bacon, sausage, or waffles- with the bacon cooked right inside. He had an herb garden once, and would like to help grow chives, "minty herbs," and salad vegetables, if a family liked to garden. Malachi likes rock and country music, can play three songs on the piano, and he likes to dance.
He has lots more growing up to do, but he's now off to a better start, with true-blue heroes, good sports skills, an inventive imagination, and an appreciation of nature and the outdoors. Malachi says simply that he wants "a good family." Is that you? Could you help an inventive, creative boy like Malachi grow up in your healthy, happy home?
