Sibling Decision Making Matrix
Published: August 2001NOAS developed The Sibling Decision Making Matrix as an outcome of a U.S. Dept.of Health and Human Services Adoption Opportunities grant to develop best practices for keeping siblings together in foster/adoptive placements. In the research and implementation stages of "Sisters and Brothers Together" it became apparent that siblings were often separated due to a short-term circumstance that became long-term by default. The Sibling Decision Making Matrix was developed to help clarify the issues in separating siblings and to make the decisions more intentional.
